The Packaging & Label Gravure Association Seeks Full Time Executive Director
The Board of the Directors of the Packaging and Label Gravure Association (PLGA) have recently voted to seek a full time executive director of the association. This has been a part time position. Current Executive Director Jim Lepp has declined the full time position due to other ongoing business commitments. Jim will remain on the board and in his position until a successor is found. Jim will provide support to the Executive Committee and Board as they seek and interview candidates for the position. Applications will be accepted until January 2, 2012.
The Packaging and Label Gravure Association serves as the prime trade association for the packaging, label, and specialty products segments
of the Gravure printing industry.

| Job Summary: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for PLGA programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will advise and assist the Board in promoting the use of rotogravure printing and packaging and ensure that the PLGA is the prime information resource for the packaging and label printer/buyer/user. The position will focus on assisting and facilitating the efforts of PLGA members, development of committee initiatives and the promotion of the educational foundation – especially its training aspect. Key measures of success will include: membership levels, conference attendance, training utilization, member perception of the value proposition of the PLGA, and financial performance. |
Job Responsibilities:
- Build membership of the PLGA through a sales and marketing effort that identifies the value of membership to new, potential
and existing members. Activities will include educational events at learning institutions and training/certification events at industry
locations.
- Ensure that up-to-date information is available through the PLGA website, training programs, and technical forums.
- Help develop a partnership with vendors, academia, converters, consumer products companies and other associations for the promotion and support of gravure and the PLGA organization.
- Through customer visits and correspondence, help provide the converter as well as the label and packaging buyer/user with
information on the latest technology available to improve
pressroom efficiency and product quality thru tools like the GST
manual.
- Help develop content of both the operational (management) and technical conferences to reflect the type and quality of information that the industry desires.
- Expand the PLGA educational offering of gravure training and education for the benefit of members.
- Foster fiscal responsibility and promote the highest standard of business practices and ethics.
- Change perceptions and spread awareness of key developments that will secure a future for the Gravure process
in the Americas.

Prerequisites:
Four year degree in related field and/or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the rotogravure print and packaging industry. Experience in marketing/associations preferred. Must have strong written and oral communications skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft suite software.
