Four colors + 2 varnishes printed on 60# C2S paper. The judges commented that it was a busy label with much to look at. The halftones and particular the vignettes are nicely done. There has been a good use of color and the type is clean and easy to read. There were plenty of opportunities for problems to creep in but they were successful in avoiding them. An outstanding label.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
Six colors + 1 varnish printed on 4-mil film. This looks a delicate and well-produced label with subtle use of colors. Closer inspection confirmed this impression. The halftones are well executed and the background shade is well printed and adds to the subtlety previously mentioned.

Five colors printed on a proprietary heat transfer substrate. The judges commented that this label certainly has attention grabbing, dramatic and contrasting colors. JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
A 6-color job that involved random ink jet numbering in register with the print and with thermochromatic ink applied over the numbers. The judges commented that it was an interesting, well-produced label. The halftone illustrations are atmospheric and look good. The type is profuse but well printed and legible. There was a lot of opportunity for misregister but was handled well. A good result.

COMPANY:
Scientific Games International

ENTRY:
Lord of the Rings

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
Fourteen stations were used in the production of this entry on 10 point coated stock. Multiple layers of in-register security coatings protect the ticket from alteration or modification. This job represents all that only gravure is capable of producing. Extremely tight register, good process colors, UV coating and overprint inks truly make this a unique product and deserving of this award.
