“Operating in a Global Market”
By Mark Sukovich, Multi-Color Corporation
Miami FL - Naturally, the weather was perfect especially for those that had a chance to see it. The remainder of us consisting of 198 attendees including 56 printers, 117 suppliers, 2 end users, 11 academia, 2 trade show representatives, and 10 PLGA management and media/publication representatives listened to presentations promoting the “Power ofGravure around the World.”
Balanced, enlightening, informative presentations regarding profitability without disclosing any company’s competitive advantages were presented as part of this year’s theme.
Despite the challenges, exceptional presentations and lively audience participation ensued on a wide range of intriguing topics. A special thank you to all of the people who volunteered to be moderators and speakers. Sessions included end user, converter and supplier perspectives regarding requirements, challenges and optimum performance brought about by competing in a world marketplace. Top honors for most effective presentations (as voted by attendees) were Kurt Oegerli of MaxDaetwyler Corporation “A Global Perspective from a Supplier” and Heine Heininga from Windmoller & Hoelscher Corporation “Positive Market Trends for Gravure.” A toast to the fine people of Miller Brewing Co.for an informative, entertaining and very “refreshing” presentation before lunch on Thursday.
On Wednesday evening, the PLGA Global Print Quality Awards were given. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and particularly to the Best of Show award recipient, Alcoa Packaging for Nielson Ultimate Chocolate Milk.
