Export A, By JIT MacDonald
9 Colors and varnish printed on SBS board using Flint Ink on a Bobst press. The use of CMYK for all of the health warnings, hot foil stamping custom color line printing and embossing make this a challenging package. All three samples looked good, especially the Export in an embossed and mirror finish. Both standard type and reversed type were good. The halftones were nice and the tight register between the printing, embossing and hot foil stamping noteworthy.

Wrigley Freedent Tabs
6 Colors printed on SBS Board using Flint Ink on a Bobst press. The use of different engraving specifications and special Silver ink was critical in achieving the look of a metalized box, but still keep a soft vignette in the copy and not have to use metalized board. The planning and care in production by the printer made for a clean looking result. The small type is very well produced, the halftones and vignettes good and overall a nice package.

Marlboro Wild and Free
8 Colors printed on SBS board using Flint Inks, Flint and Sun Chemical lacquers on a Bobst press. Use of CMYK process artwork combined with three different types of lacquer (Matt, Gloss & Sand) gave the box a totally different feel without using embossing. The judges commented that this was a dramatic looking sample with severe black, red and blue contrast. The reversed out type is good and the use of the textured lacquer was indeed unique.
