JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
10 Colors printed on paper using solvent based inks on a Schaivi press. The label uses 7 spot and process inks including a metallic to bring out the details of the photos. When the customer removes the label, a message that is printed on the backside is reveled indicating if they are a winner. This small label looks very busy. A lot is packed into such a small area. The registration is excellent; the grips are good and the overall detail good. The small type is very legible.

4 Colors printed on PVC using Sun Chemical Ink on a Chesnut press. This is an unusual use of a film label. The blue background looks good: the small type is clean and legible and the addition of the silver images helps to raise the look of the label.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
8 Colors printed on pressure sensitive clear film using solvent based inks on a Schaivi press. This entry contained the front, back and neck labels for the bottle. This set of labels gives a nice impression and for the purpose it is excellent. The opacity of the gravure printed white provides excellent contrast to the black “64”.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
6 Colors printed on Fasson 60# face stock laminated to 50# liner using Siegwerk C Type solvent based inks and Environmental Ink and Coating water-based coating on a Dia-Nippon Kiko 10 color rotogravure press. The job was printed using 300 – 450 line screen. The judges commented “what can we say, we cannot see anything wrong with this entry at all and it’s not for the want of trying”. The reversed out images were done to perfection, even though the small dot pattern made it difficult. The fine detailing and high screen count printing can only be accomplished by the gravure process. The colors are excellent as is the color-to-color register on all stamps. The register and die cutting are reflective of the quality demanded by the United States Postal Service.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
7 Colors, Adhesive and cohesive printed in line, with 75 ga OPP laminated to 48 ga MPET on a W&H Heliostar press. This is a unique package that eliminated the use of cyan, using only black, magenta and yellow for the process colors. This eliminated the blue/green hue that was evident when cyan was used. The halftones are good and the type clean, crisp and clear.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
9 Colors sustainable 2 mil PLA film using Sun Chemical solvent based inks on a Rotomec RS4003 press. The full body sleeve incorporated a tamper evident design that was removed by the consumer through the use of a perforation. The illustrations are well done and the small type is sharp and clear. The background two-tone blue adds appeal to the label.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
5 Colors, 4 process and 1 spot color, printed on metalized holographic paper using water based inks supplied by American Inks on a Cerutti press. This is a busy sample with a lot going on. The metalized paper is not the easiest to print on, however the results look good. Overall a nice gift-wrap sample.

4 Colors printed on 1-1/4 mil polystyrene film using water based inks by American Ink on a
hy-Roto press. This is a wonderfully colored simple design attractive to children. A challenging substrate and not an easy job to print. The halftones are well done and the finished product achieved the desired look the customer wanted.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:
4 Colors and varnish, printed on SBS board using Sun Chemical inks on a Bobst press. A nice contrast between the black, green and red images. “Not too much to go wrong with this carton”. The solids are good in all colors and the black type clear and legible. The crocodile embossing effect is truly unique and makes this job.
